Experience Abu Dhabi & ADCEB hold 3-city roadshow in India

Experience Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB) jointly held a three-city roadshow in India recently, covering cities of Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata.

According to a statement by the Department of Culture & Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), along with 23 important partners, such as Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and Miral Destinations, the one-stop trade and promotional partner for Yas Island and Saadiyat Island, displayed a variety of destination highlights.

The statement adds that the India roadshow offered a schedule of one-on-one meetings, presentations, and promoted the emirate as a top tourist destination for leisure, business, and incentive travel. It also strengthened current partnerships and forged new ones with travel trade partners.

The statement says that over 730 representatives from the Indian travel industry attended the roadshow in all three locations to learn about the distinctive and varied experiences Abu Dhabi provides Indian tourists and to forge long-term business alliances. The DCT Abu Dhabi says that it is targetting Tier 2 cities in India and plans to do seminars in 11 more towns this year.

The statement says direct flights to Abu Dhabi have been launched by Etihad, Air Arabia, and Indigo in an effort to make travel to these cities as easy as possible. Etihad launched daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata, while Air Arabia began operating three times each week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata. Additionally, Indigo has launched its daily direct flights from Chennai and Hyderabad to Abu Dhabi.

The statement adds that throughout the roadshow, Abu Dhabi’s attractiveness as an all-year round destination, was highlighted, with upcoming events. It also focused on the many family-friendly features of Abu Dhabi and the variety of experiences that are on offer for Indian holidaymakers, from the tranquillity of Al Ain Oasis and the Al Dhafra desert to the thrills of Yas Island’s range of unique theme parks and attractions.

Valid from May 1-September 30, travellers can opt for a getaway that’s nestled in the city, select a gorgeous resort surrounded by turquoise waters, or book a family escape for the kids to enjoy at an amazing value.
