With immediate effect, veteran Nakul Anand has been named "Patron-in-Chief" for life by Indian tourism corporation FAITH.

Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH), an umbrella organisation of hospitality industry in India, has announced the appointment of Nakul Anand as its ‘Patron-in-Chief’ for life with immediate effect.

According to a press statement by the board, the decision was made during the recent Board Meeting held under the Chairmanship of Puneet Chhatwal, Chairman, FAITH.

Anand had joined ITC Hotels as a management trainee in 1978 and in a journey spanning 45 years he rose to the top positions in the company and he oversaw ITC’s hospitality, travel and tourism businesses. He contributed immensely in taking ITC Hotels to the heights where it is today.

The statement says that in his new role, Anand will continue to serve as a guiding force for FAITH, leveraging his vast experience and expertise to further the organisation’s mission of fostering growth and development within the Indian tourism and hospitality sector.

The statement adds that Rajiv Mehra, the General Secretary of FAITH shared this information highlighting Anand’s exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to the tourism and hospitality industry as former Chairman of FAITH and former Executive Director at ITC, one of India’s foremost conglomerates.

The statement adds that the decision to appoint him as ‘Patron-in-Chief’ was met with unanimous approval from the FAITH Board.
