At a packed India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, near Delhi, Shripad Yeso Naik, Minister of State for Tourism of India inaugurated SATTE 2022, a leading travel show in India and the South Asian region. SATTE is organised each year by Informa Markets in India, a B2B exhibition organiser.

Over more than 36,000 industry buyers and trade visitors across multiple industry verticals including travel, wedding planning, and corporate travel present at the event provided lucrative business opportunities while industry experts and moguls shared valuable insights on the massive revival potential of the tourism industry.

Apart from the Indian states present at the event, international destinations that participated and exhibited at SATTE 2022 included Saudi Arabia and Los Angeles, making their debut for the first time in the Indian market. Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, Mauritius Tourism Authority and many more were amongst the several others that had also marked their presence at the expo.

‘‘SATTE has become the leading travel and tourism exhibition in more than two decades of its existence. It is a hub of idea and knowledge sharing between enterprising, creative minds and simultaneously coming up with well-crafted solutions to accelerate growth in the travel-tour industry. It has garnered huge support from diversified industries and international and national travel boards. An event of this magnitude is happening in India with humongous foreign participation and footfalls,” Tourism Minister Naik said at the SATTE Inauguration ceremony.

“The travel and tourism industry is one of the world’s largest economic sectors. It has witnessed a huge spurt of growth in the post-pandemic period and is set to continue the momentum and continue on its path of revival,” he added.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, said SATTE was pleased to have gotten ‘‘such an amazing response from exhibitors and are grateful for the support received from authorities and tourism boards in India’’.

Mudras believes that exhibitions like SATTE will play a crucial role in placing side by side a positive and growth-oriented attitude among the stakeholders and industrial communities.

Perhaps what stood out most at this year’s SATTE was that the event had received support from several international and domestic organisations and associations amongst which include well-known names like the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), and many more.

The much awaited after-show hours will include exciting and charming networking evenings each night, including the Jammu & Kashmir Networking Night on Day 2 and Mauritius Tourism Networking Night on Day 3.
