South African Tourism partners with SATTE 2022

After hosting roadshows across four different cities of India in March, South African Tourism has tied up with SATTE, one of South Asia’s leading travel shows.

Following a successful 4-city roadshow held in March in India, covering the cities of Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Ahmedabad along with innovative consumer, corporate and trade activations, South African Tourism says it will showcase destination South Africa at the 29th edition of South Asia’s leading travel show, SATTE 2022. The tradeshow will be held at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida in Delhi NCR from May 18 to 20.

Coming to SATTE, along with South African Tourism are 35 leading South African exhibitors who will introduce novel and upgraded destination offerings. The suppliers will include three South African provinces namely Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency, Gauteng Tourism Authority and Tourism KwaZulu Natal. They will also be offering unique accommodation options, luxury experiences, offbeat activities, SMMEs, advanced MICE infrastructure, as well as adventure, wildlife and culinary capabilities.

Over 1,200 exhibitors, 35,000 buyers, 800 VIPs and delegates, and travel professionals from over 50 countries are slated to visit the trade show.

“We are excited to see tourism not just resuming, but thriving! With the restarting of international flights from India, we have been witnessing immense demand and interest from Indian travellers. This response encourages us to constantly push the envelope and provide the best hospitality experience possible to every traveller setting foot in the Rainbow Nation,” says Neliswa Nkani, Hub Head – Middle East, India and South East Asia, South African Tourism.

“At South African Tourism, we are determined to deliver quality, never-seen-before experiences to the Indian traveller who is on the lookout for More & More. SATTE 2022 will see our finest service providers and activities specifically tailored for the desi audience – especially millennials. We expect profitable partnerships and high-impact meetings between South African exhibitors and global and Indian buyers to stem from our second association with the trade show,” Nkani adds.

During the tourism board’s 4-city roadshow, South African Tourism showcased long-term investment and interest in the Indian market and outlined a strategic roadmap to garner 64 pc year on year increase in Indian visitors in 2022. Also the recently rolled out e-visas for India are anticipated to drive a large part of this growth.

Currently, several stop-over flights fly from India to South Africa, including Emirates, Air Seychelles, Qatar Airways, Air Arabia, Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways. Travellers from India to South Africa are required to produce either a complete vaccination certificate or a negative PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test, not older than 72 hours from the time of departure from the country of origin to South Africa.
