Los Angeles Tourism to woo Indian travellers at SATTE 2022

With an aim to revive inbound Indian arrivals to Los Angeles City, Los Angeles Tourism, the destination’s Tourism & Convention Board, is making its debut in SATTE 2022, a travel show that starts in New Delhi later this week.

In order to woo Indian travellers and put its mark on the Indian market again, Los Angeles Tourism will be making its debut and showcasing Los Angeles and its diverse offerings in leading travel show, SATTE 2022, that will be held from May 18 to 20 at Greater Noida in the National Capital Region.

Los Angeles Tourism, along with two destination management companies, will invite Indian travellers to start their comeback story in the City of Angeles by displaying the destination’s abundance of culinary delights, luxury experiences, beaches, advanced MICE infrastructure, as well as unique gastronomic capabilities and destination wedding venues for Indians seeking offbeat luxury in a California setting. There is also anticipation of having mutually beneficial partnerships by the tourism board as over 1,200 exhibitors, 35,000 buyers, 800 VIPs, delegates, and travel professionals from over 50 countries are expected at the trade show over the three days.

“With the resumption of international flights and lifting of travel restrictions, we believe India is well poised to retain its pre-pandemic position as one of the fastest growing international markets to Los Angeles,” says Seema Kadam, Regional Director – India, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.

“The demand for travel to Los Angeles is supported by excellent air connectivity, cutting edge infrastructure and remarkable immersive experiences for the evolved Indian traveller. As part of our growth and expansion efforts in India, we are now looking actively to reach out to source markets beyond the key metros of Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore,” she adds.

Kadam believes that SATTE 2022 will help serve as the perfect platform to interact with, form new connections and amplify opportunities to place Los Angeles as a top outbound destination for Indian travellers again.

The Indian market has long been of high importance to Los Angeles for many years. In 2019, 135,000 Indians had that had visited L.A. helped boost the city’s revenue to USD 301 million just from them spending to the local economy. During the pre-pandemic period, travellers from India were the third highest spenders after China and Middle East with the average spend of USD 2,257 per Indian visitor.
