The appointment of  Kairat Sadvakassov as the Chairman of the Kazakhstan Tourism Board, Kazakh Tourism National JSC, is effective December 29

The government of Kazakhstan has appointed Kairat Sadvakassov as Chairman of Kazakh National Tourism JSC with effect from December 29. Sadvakassov will launch several initiatives, including India-friendly and China-friendly measures, to boost tourism to the Central Asian nation.

The Government of Kazakhstan has announced the appointment of  Kairat Sadvakassov as the Chairman of the Kazakhstan Tourism Board, Kazakh Tourism National JSC, effective December 29. In a press statement, the tourism promotion organisation says that Sadvakassov brings over two decades of extensive experience in destination management, spanning both public and private sectors, and holds a prestigious degree from New York University.

The statement adds that prior to his current role, Sadvakassov served as the Vice-deputy Chairman at the Kazakh Tourism National JSC since 2017. The Board issued a statement expressing their confidence in Sadvakassov’s ability to leverage his substantial expertise in the tourism sector to enhance market presence and promotion in key source markets, including India, China, Russia, and Germany.

The statement also emphasised his commitment to fostering stakeholder engagement and unlocking new opportunities.

It says that as part of his vision, Sadvakassov intends to introduce innovative initiatives such as “Indian Friendly” and “China Friendly,” along with the creation of new experiences like “Winter Wonderland Experiences,” as outlined in the official statement.

Galimzhan Seilov, Senior Manager for Business Meetings at the Board, highlighted the importance of India as a key market for Kazakhstan. With three airlines operating daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai, Kazakhstan has introduced visa-free travel for Indian citizens. Cities like Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent are gaining popularity among Indian travelers, and the country has successfully hosted the Travel Agents Association of India, expressing hopes to welcome more Indian associations in the future.

“We are very happy that Kairat has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board. His wealth of experience and managerial skills will undoubtedly contribute to the improvement of our market targets and goals,’’ says Seilov.
