Kazakhstan Tourism Board has joined hands with the national railways to offer a new winter experience

Land of the enchanting Altai Mountains and the vast Kazakh Steppe, Kazakh Tourism and Kazakh Railways have teamed up to present a festive rail journey from Astana to the heart of winter wonder, Burabay National Park.

With the onset of winter, Kazakhstan Tourism Board has joined hands with the national railways to offer a new winter experience for visitors to the country.

In a press statement, the tourism board says that as the winter winds embrace the Kazakh landscape, a magical journey awaits here for those seeking to bask in the enchanting beauty of the season.

The statement adds that the train itself is a masterpiece of festive delight, both inside and out, adorned by the creative genius of illustrator Zhannar Sagidolla. The exterior features vibrant depictions of Father Frost and Snow Maiden, setting the stage for a journey filled with the magic of the season. Inside, passengers are immersed in a world of holiday cheer, making every moment of the ride a celebration in itself.

Operating until the end of the New Year holidays, this festive train has become a popular tradition that attracted over 16,000 passengers last year. Deputy Minister of Tourism, Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, lauded the success of creating a celebratory atmosphere for both locals and tourists.

The statement adds that the holiday train departs five times a week from Nurly Zhol station, starting at 06:12 and boarding is available at Astana-1 station at 06:37, departing promptly at 07:00.

The board adds that visitors to Burabay National Park can indulge in a myriad of activities that showcase the park’s natural splendour. From scenic hikes through snow-laden trails to tranquil boat rides on the glistening lakes, every moment spent in Burabay is sure to appeal like a page out of a winter fairy tale.

A highlight of the festive rail journey is the visit to BurabayLand, a whimsical destination where magic comes alive. This enchanting amusement park is adorned with festive decorations, creating a vibrant atmosphere that captivates visitors of all ages.

The statement adds that Santa’s Residence, nestled within BurabayLand, is a place where dreams meet reality. Visitors can step into a world of holiday enchantment while exploring the workshop of the jolly old man himself. The air is filled with the sweet scent of gingerbread, and the sounds of joyous laughter echo through the halls.  A curated tour by Burabay Damu ensures that every moment at BurabayLand and Santa’s Residence is filled with wonder.
