Showcasing Germany's diverse offerings and upcoming events, German National Tourist Office India, recently hosted a gathering that facilitated interactions between the members of the Indian press and GNTO.

The German National Tourist Office (GNTO), India, hosted an exclusive gathering on October 3 in New Delhi, offering an immersive and thrilling experience while showcasing the unique travel destinations the country offers. 

In a press statement, GNTO says that with a discerning mix of guests in attendance, the evening paid a vibrant tribute to German culture and hospitality, which showcased the country’s rich culinary heritage, sustainable hospitality and vibrant culture. 

GNTO says the event was enriched by German music, food and delightful drinks, the occasion captivated the audience by immersing them in the heart of Germany’s cultural and culinary diversity. The event also cast a spotlight on Berlin’s upcoming attractions, while highlighting themes of UNESCO heritage sites, nature, and sustainability.

The statement says that the press event in New Delhi, facilitated interactions between the members of the Indian press and GNTO, India team, apprising them on how they are navigating the sustainability and data management landscapes along with ensuring a seamless experience for foreign travellers.

“Germany is now slowly becoming one of the most favourite travel destinations for Indians. With numerous exotic travel destinations on offer appealing to travellers from various segments, Germany is the perfect destination to unwind. Also, with Germany hosting the UEFA Euro 2004 football tournament, we are expecting many football crazy Indians to visit Germany and enjoy the unique experience of watching their favourite football stars in action,” says Romit Theophilus, Director, Sales & Marketing, German National Tourist Office in India.

The statement adds that the German National Tourist office has espoused a travel experience nestled in pristine natural surroundings where a tourist can feel the energy of different landscapes, stroll through authentic markets and experience true relaxation.

“Berlin has plenty of highlights in store this year, be it the Festival of Lights from 6 to 15 October, during which numerous buildings in Berlin will be showcased in spectacular fashion with elaborate light installations, or the big New Year’s Eve show at the Brandenburg Gate. After all, in 2024, there will be many events in the capital that will make a trip to the German capital well worth the while for Indians,” says Ralf Ostendorf, Director Market Management at VisitBerlin.

The statement adds that Germany‘s cultural treasures include 51 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the influential Bauhaus School sites in Weimar and Dessau. The Cologne Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece with a 632-year construction span, adds to the nation’s heritage. Another treasure, Kassel’s Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe features the Hercules monument and captivating water features. The Wadden Sea ranks as the world’s largest uninterrupted system of intertidal sand and mud flats and is home to diverse marine life. 

GNTO says that Berlin, the capital of Germany and its largest city, also offers tourists many reasons to soak in historical surroundings and also enjoy modern facilities. In 2024, Berlin celebrates the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The statement adds a whole series of events and ceremonial events with high-ranking international guests are planned to celebrate the anniversary in a way that befits the occasion.

GNTO says another captivating reason to visit Germany next year is the UEFA Euro 2024, which will see the top countries in Europe for the biggest prize in continental football. There are a total of ten venues throughout Germany and among them, Berlin bears a special significance. In addition to three group matches and one round of 16 and one quarter-final, the Olympic Stadium will also be the venue for the title clash. 

The statement adds that Berlin is regarded as not only a place to watch football, but also a place to celebrate and UEFA Euro 2024 will see numerous events which will elevate the experience of a passionate football fan.
