ATM 2024 expects 23 pc rise in exhibitors

Over 200 speakers will participate in more than 50 sessions during the course of the four-day event to discuss pressing issues

Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, the largest travel trade fair in the Middle East, could 23 pc increase in exhibitor participation, compared to 2023.

In a press statement, the organisers of ATM say that the 31st edition of the exhibition will be held in Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from May 6 to 9, with central theme of Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship.

The organisers add that this 31st edition of ATM is set to be the largest edition in the event’s history, with growth expected across all show verticals.

The organisers add that they anticipate regional year-on-year upticks with Europe at the highest, reporting a 32 pc increase, while Africa will see 28 pc surge, Asia 20 pc and the Middle East will be 19 pc larger.

The statement adds that the exhibition’s sold-out Travel Tech space will be 56 pc greater on the show floor, with products from the sector demonstrating 33 pc growth year on year. Hotel participation, meanwhile, is projected to be 21 pc higher than last year.

The statement adds that over 200 speakers will participate in more than 50 sessions during the course of the four-day event to discuss pressing issues such as the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI), the future of aviation, how to stand out in the luxury segment, retail tourism and sustainable travel.

Participating in the exhibition will be a selection of regional and international policymakers, including Issam Kazim, CEO, Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, Teodora Marinska, Head of Public Affairs, European Travel Commission, Basmah Al-Mayman, Regional Director, Middle East at the United Nations Tourism and Lindsay Bowman Fraser, Leading Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions (MICE), Sport and eSport, Qatar Tourism.

The statement adds that this year’s edition will move beyond traditional leisure travel by exploring opportunities related to luxury, business, and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). ATM 2024 will feature an array of discussions on these subjects, including sessions dedicated to premium offerings, healthcare meetings, global business travel, sustainable procurement, sporting events and more.

The statement adds that speakers at ATM 2024 will explore a series of emerging and established market segments, such as experiential, accessible and multi-generational travel, highlighting opportunities for growth, transformation and disruption, gauging how these technologies are impacting the Middle East’s travel industry.
