The Czech Republic in the winter is a beautiful place to travel. It gets wrapped in a blanket of snow, making the travellers feel a sense of magic in the air and inducing an illusion of being in a Christmas fairy tale.

With December 25 round the corner, Christmas markets are amongst the most popular tourist attractions for visitors to enjoy. The Prague Christmas market is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world, but the Christmas atmosphere in Moravia is also charming. The Christmas markets are enchanting, but the most important is the true Christmas atmosphere scented with cinnamon and clove, excellent mulled wine and sweet-smelling gingerbread cookies.

Another most unforgettable experience that can be enjoyed in the winters is ice skating in the Centre of Prague and Brno or on the Vltava River in Prague when it freezes during the winter season. It doesn’t matter if the travellers are professional at ice-skating or an amateur who has never tried this activity before, ice skating ought to be experienced by one and all. For ice-skating in a fairy-tale setting, tourists can ice skate in the rink on the Fruit Market (Ovocný trh) in the Prague Old Town. If the stadium and rings don’t excite the visitors, they can also visit Brno and skate at the Brno Water Reservoir where they can skate for several kilometres at a time.
