OTOAI to hold 5th Annual Convention in Nairobi

The 5th Annual Convention of outbound tour operators’ association, OTOAI, will be held in Kenyan capital Nairobi in November for which OTOAI has invited its members to register.

The Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) says that it will hold its 5th Annual Convention in Nairobi in Kenya from November 24-27.

OTOAI made the announcement at a recently-held press conference on in New Delhi where its officials shared details about the upcoming convention, marking the first time ever that a tourism convention is taking place in Kenya.

“This is a much-awaited convention as it is taking place after a gap of three years and that too in a destination like Kenya, which is still undiscovered by many in India. Sarova Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel group headquartered in Kenya is our official hotel partner for the convention. One Above, with its multiple offices across India and abroad, are going to be our ground handlers in Kenya during the convention. I am confident that this is going to be a great Convention and I invite you all to come and be a part of it,” Riaz Munshi, President, OTOAI, told the press meet.

“Our supporting airline partner for the event is Air India from Delhi and Kenya Airways from Mumbai. We will open the registration for the Convention on September 27 and are expecting 200 delegates to be part of our annual convention. Those travelling to Kenya will have to get a mandatory Yellow Fever Vaccination 15 days prior to travel, Yellow Fever Vaccination certificate can be avail from any approved local government center. Another mandatory requirement to travel to Kenya is to obtain Polio Drops Vaccination/Vaccination Certificate from a local physician,’’ said Shravan Bhalla, Vice President, OTOAI and Convention Chairman.

Mita Vohra, Director of Sarova Hotels & Resorts was present on the occasion and expressed excitement on receiving such a huge delegation of tour operators from India soon. Irshad Dadan and Vishal Somaiya, Directors, One Above also participated in the press meet and showed great faith in Kenya as a destination and a perfect venue for the OTOAI Convention. On the occasion, an MoU about the convention was also signed by Vohra and Bhalla.

In a press statement, OTOAI says that it has prepared an attractive package for the OTOAI delegates who would be attending the Convention. The cost for Active Members Ex Mumbai starts from INR 79,999, excluding taxes and Delhi, it starts from INR 82,999 plus taxes. The statement adds that there are also attractive Pre and Post FAM Trips covering regions of Nakuru, Mara and Shaba in addition to the experience in Nairobi on first come first basis. A non-refundable Registration Fee of INR 4999 plus taxes will also be charged, says the statement, adding that details on convention theme, business sessions and speakers along with a detailed programme will be shared by OTOAI soon.
