“I am here to try to interact with the Indian market before the direct flights start as for us the Indian market is humongous. It is a huge market and Armenia is an undiscovered destination for them. So today I tried to give some information about my country and to attract as many agents as I can,’’ Davidyan told India Outbound.

Davidyan goes on to highlight key activities lined up for the Indian market. “For the next six months, we are planning to announce some familiarisation trips and perhaps some conventions that will take place in Armenia. As the destination is undiscovered, so we need to invite agents and see the country,’’ she added.

Davidyan said that Travel Armenia would not limit itself to the metros or Tier I cities alone to promote the destination in India. “We are trying to get also small cities. But as the flights will be from Delhi, that is vital, it will be easier for us to start for Delhi and after the airline will enlarge their destinations. So we will be happy to do it,’’ she said.

“As the Indian market is huge, we will need a lot of B2B cooperation with the Indian agents and not just Travel Armenia, but a lot of other Armenian travel agents will also be involved in presenting the destination to their Indian counterparts,’’ Davidyan said.

Davidyan also highlighted the various attractions that Armenia offers to Indian visitors and also the segments of travellers that are best catered to by the destination.

“Actually, Travel by Armenia offers all kinds of services and we cater to all the segment, be it FIT, groups, destination weddings or MICE. Armenia has a lot of nice restaurants and also restaurants that serve Indian food. I also know that Indians like sightseeing and we have lots of heritage buildings and markets that the Indian visitors can enjoy. Also, Armenia has a very nice weather and as Indians are very active and like to enjoy the food, the nature and also the climate that is very nice,’’ said Davidyan.
