‘‘The event is a great opportunity for our members to network and interact with the representatives from the German tourism industry,’’ said Shravan Bhalla, Vice President of OTOAI, who also called for a minute of silence in the memory of M Shoeb Qureshi of Heena Tours.

Anika Tandon, Manager Sales and Marketing, German National Tourist Office in India, briefed the members on the various opportunities Germany offers as a tourist destination and addressed the queries regarding the destination and visa requirements. The event featured a presentation about the country’s diverse tourism offerings and covered a range of topics including Germany’s history, culture, cuisine, and natural landscapes.

‘‘We are delighted at the enthusiastic response of our partners in India. The interest shown by the OTOAI members is a testament to the growing appeal of Germany as a holiday destination for Indian travellers. We look forward to welcoming more Indian visitors to Germany in the coming months,’’ said Tandon.

The statement adds that the event was attended by a range of industry stakeholders including tour operators and travel agents from Lucknow. With such collaborative efforts between GNTO and OTOAI, it is expected that the popularity of Germany as a tourism destination among Indian travellers will continue to grow in the coming years.
