Tourism representation firm Think Strawberries has added to its client list, bagging India representation for two of the most ambitious tourist destinations currently under development in Saudi Arabia.

The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) in Saudi Arabia is developing two of the world’s most ambitious tourist destinations on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, The Red Sea and Amaala.

In a league of their own, both destinations promise to change the face of luxury travel. As part of its strategic expansion plan to build destination awareness, TRSDC has joined hands with India’s leading tourism representation company, Think Strawberries, as its in-market representative to develop the country’s burgeoning outbound luxury travel market, says a press release.

TRSDC is a closed joint-stock company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia and was established to drive the development of The Red Sea and Amaala, two luxury and regenerative tourism destinations that will set new standards in the tourism and hospitality industry and position Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map.

Being developed over 28,000 sqkm on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, The Red Sea is designed as a luxury tourism destination that will set new standards for sustainable development. Phase one is on track to debut next year and will offer a stellar lineup of 16 resorts including the likes of The Ritz Carlton Reserve, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses, St Regis and Grand Hyatt among others. By 2030, the destination will comprise 50 resorts with an inventory of over 8,000 hotel rooms across 22 islands and 6 inland sites. The Red Sea will also feature an exclusive international airport, an 18-hole championship golf course, indulgent entertainment and leisure facilities, adds the press release.

The other project under development, Amaala, is another exquisite destination in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 tourism roadmap and is shaping up as a global luxury wellness destination focusing on transformative personal journeys inspired by wellness, arts and the purity of the Red Sea. Featuring diverse natural ecosystems and a unique landscape, Amaala will feature eight resorts, 200 residential units, a marina and yacht club within 4,155 sq km.

The first phase of the destination is set for completion by end of 2024 and will consist of eight hotels and upwards of 1,300 hotel keys. When complete, it will offer approximately 3,000 hotel rooms across 25 hotels as well as high-end retail establishments, fine dining, wellness, and recreational facilities, says the press statement.

With India being one of the top focus markets for Saudi Arabia, the two destinations have already begun finalising their strategy to receive Indian tourists as soon as they are ready to receive visitors. It is with this objective that TSRDC has named Think Strawberries as its India representative.
