Bangkok-based Minor Hotels has announced that its new property Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna Hotel will be launched in March 2024 in the Austrian capital of Vienna.

In a press statement, Minor Hotels says the move is part of its strategic expansion across Europe. The hotel will be situated in Schottenring, part of the city’s Ring Boulevard in Vienna.

According to the hotel, Anantara Vienna will rebrand a 150-year-old palace that was constructed by Danish architect Theophil Hansen in 1873 for the Vienna World’s Exhibition.

The statement adds that it currently operates as Palais Hansen Kempinski. Many of Vienna’s cultural and artistic attractions are in close proximity and there is a nearby U-bahn station that connects with the rest of the city.

The hotel says Anantara Vienna will span across three floors to feature 152 classically decorated guest rooms and suites, including a 270-sqm Presidential Suite, claimed to be the largest in the Austrian capital. Dining options will include a Michelin-starred restaurant, regional cuisine at the Wintergarten, an elegant Lobby Lounge and Bar and Cigar Lounge.

The hotel adds that its ten function rooms on the ground floor and mezzanine level will also make for an ideal meetings and events space, while the ballroom can host gala dinners, weddings and conferences for up to 265 people. Leisure facilities will include an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and spa.
