The Tourism Office of Spain, Turespana, and the Embassy’s tourism department together organised the Spanish Travel Experience, a business-to-business workshop for the Indian travel industry. Three cities hosted the meetings, New Delhi on October 4, Bengaluru on October 5, and Mumbai on October 6.
According to a press statement by Spain Tourism in India, the Ambassador of Spain to India, José María Ridao Dominguez, accompanied by the Director of the Tourism Office of Spain, Elisa Robles Fraga, inaugurated the workshop at the Roseate House in New Delhi.
The statement adds that in each city, the Indian travel companies had the opportunity to meet and interact with 20 Spanish companies and institutions, including 8 incoming travel agencies and DMCs, two hotel groups, special venues for shopping, tourism clubs, organiser of flamenco shows and six regional tourism boards.
“The Spanish Travel Experience is the best platform to enhance business ties and source for new Spanish tourism products, improving the knowledge about multiple destinations” says José María Ridao Domínguez. The Consul General of Spain in Mumbai, Fernando Heredia Noguer, attended the event in Mumbai.
The board adds that the group and individual meetings were organised in each city for six hours plus an hour for a networking lunch. In three days, over 450 Indian travel agents got to discover destinations such as the mysterious region of Galicia.
