With prominent tourism stakeholders, including hotels, tour operators, airlines, and representatives in attendance, the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines embarked upon a four-city roadshow across India, showcasing the captivating beauty and diverse cultural treasures of the Pearl of the Orient, as the Philippines is also known.
According to a press statement by the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, the roadshow provided a unique opportunity for Indian travel professionals to meet with their counterparts from the south-east Asian nation. The roadshow began in New Delhi and covered Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai.
The statement adds that the roadshow aimed to forge a deeper connection between the Philippines and India, fostering an understanding of the Philippines‘ rich heritage, pristine landscapes, and warm hospitality.
The tourism board adds that the roadshow enabled the Indian travel trade to gain insights into the plethora of travel experiences the Philippines has to offer, from its stunning tropical islands, lush rainforests, and crystal-clear waters to its vibrant festivals, historical landmarks, and fascinating local traditions.
The roadshow also featured several presentations, interactive sessions, and one-on-one meetings, creating a perfect platform for Indian travel professionals to strengthen existing relationships and establish new business partnerships with their Philippine counterparts.
The tourism board says that the Philippines is an all-year round destination, catering to every traveller’s interest, whether it be adventure-seeking, natureloving, history enthusiasts, or those seeking idyllic getaways. It adds that the Philippines is a land of contrasts, where modernity and tradition harmoniously coexist. Visitors can indulge in vibrant city life and immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of the Filipino people.
The board says that the well-attended roadshow saw the Indian travel trade conduct successful business interactions with Philippines Tourism officials and that the Indian agents were confident in promoting Philippines as a tourist destination, especially for its nature, culture and adventure activities.
‘‘India has always been a significant ally for the Philippines, not only in terms of tourism but also due to shared values between the two countries. We take pride in India maintaining its position as a significant contributor of tourist arrivals to the Philippines and eagerly anticipate the country reaching new heights in terms of visitor numbers,’’ says Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, Undersecretary for Tourism Regulation Coordination & Resource Generation, and concurrent Director for Regional office VII.
