Bateaux Mouches are excursion boats providing a beautiful view of Paris from along the river Seine. Bateaux Mouches originally means “fly boats”. Since they were originally manufactured in the boatyards of the Mouche area of Lyon, this name came into the picture. The passengers can see some of the most significant sites of the city, like the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Alexander III Bridge, the Pont Neuf, the Orsay Museum and the Louvre Museum. One can even opt for lunch or dinner cruise tour which normally lasts for an hour. Today, it is not just a cruise company but a destination in itself. Bateaux Mouches is the fourth site to be visited in Paris, with 2.5 million people visiting every year.
