With Orlando’s iconic water theme park SeaWorld turning 60 this year, the park has announced plans for celebrations and offers to mark the occasion.
According to a press statement by SeaWorld, the celebrations will commence from March 21, 60 years to the day that SeaWorld first opened its gates in 1964, and will continue on weekends throughout the year.
The statement adds that the parks will be hosting a special 60th Anniversary launch party on March 21 to 24 that will feature live costumed characters, including Shamu, Coral and Puck, plus confetti ribbon cannons, food and beverage items, vintage merchandise and special entertainment, including dancers and ‘high-energy atmospheric acts.’
Acts themed around there is “So Much More to Sea” at SeaWorld will mark the 60th Anniversary celebrations, the park says, adding the activities will also include new rides and attractions like world’s first launched flume coaster, “Catapult Falls” that opens in SeaWorld San Antonio.
SeaWorld Orlando’s “Penguin Trek” will open this spring, and SeaWorld San Diego will soon open “Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience,” one of the largest jelly cylinders in the country.
The park says that there will be new presentations and shows, including the Cirque-style shows at SeaWorld Orlando and SeaWorld San Antonio and a live performance character show: Shamu and Crew ‘Together Again’ at SeaWorld San Diego.
Making its debut this summer, guests of all ages will enjoy a new 60th anniversary celebration parade featuring fan favourite live costumed characters. Guests will can also access special limited-edition food and beverage offerings, collectables and exclusive memorabilia throughout the year, adds the statement.
