As global tourism revival accelerates and with India remaining the top source market for Maldives, the national carrier Maldivian has appointed a General Sales Agent for the southern Indian territory with the aim to garner greater share of traffic from this key region.

Global Aviation Services Pvt Ltd, a leading aviation services firm, has been appointed as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for the territory of South India by Maldivian, the national carrier of Maldives.

According to a press release, that the partnership with Global Aviation Services will strengthen Maldivian’s international footprint and expand its reach in the Southern Indian travel trade.

Maldivian, which basically operates domestic flights in the archipelago with over 1,000 islands, operates regular flights to two destinations in southern India. The Maldivian flies from its main hub at Velana International Airport to Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, both in Kerala. In addition, Maldivian also operates direct flights to Trivandrum from Hanimaadhoo International Airport.
