ITE HCMC says it is anticipated to attract over 200 international buyers from 20 countries and 400 exhibiting companies, aligned with the well-timed announcement of e-visa extension amendments.

One of the largest travel events in Vietnam and the Mekong sub-region, the International Tourism Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC) 2023 is set to begin from September 7-9 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. This announcement comes soon after Vietnam National Assembly’s visa amendments that allow for electronic visas to be extended to 90 days from the current 30 days validity.

According to the organisers, the event is anticipated to attract over 200 international buyers from 20 countries and territories. Thus increasing by more than 25 pc compared to 2022, the organisers add that this year’s event is projected to double in scale compared to last year. More than 400 exhibiting companies and brands will attend the event, with booths from domestic units making up more than 70 pc and about 30 pc are international units.

The theme of Connectivity, Growth, Sustainability is set to dominate the 17th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City, says the statement.

It adds that National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) from countries such as Cambodia, Chile, Taiwan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand, as well as Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) from St Petersburg in Russia, Seoul in South Korea and over 45 provinces and cities in Vietnam are expected to mark their presence in the travel fair.

The organisers say that some of the exhibitors who have already confirmed their presence for the event include Melia Hotels International, Tam Chuc National Tourism Area, Tung Lam Tourism Area, Muong Thanh Hospitality and many more.

It adds that the ITE HCMC is known to be one of the most effective platforms to enhance promotion, boost tourism development for the region and enhance destination competitiveness.

The organisers add that a key highlight for this year  includes the launch of an exclusive Hosted Buyer Programme for international buyers to expand their networks in Vietnam and the Lower Mekong region.
