The Azerbaijan Tourism Board has announced the appointment of tourism marketing agency Brandit as its representative in India. This was announced at a press conference held in Mumbai on Friday.
According to a press statement by ATB, this appointment is a highlight of the growing interest of Indian travellers in Azerbaijan.
At the conference, Florian Sengstschmid, Chief Executive Officer, Azerbaijan Tourism Board and Lubaina Sheerazi, CEO, Brandit, elaborated future plans for enhancing Azerbaijan’s visibility in the Indian market, adding that the tourism board has concluded a roadshow in three cities, namely Bengaluru, Pune and Kolkata, that was attended by top Indian travel trade representatives to enhance tourism partnership.
“Tourism relations between Azerbaijan and India are at an historic high, with increasing arrival numbers and many new emerging experiences and tourism opportunities for Indians, including family and solo vacations, destination weddings, Bollywood and Tamil movies shooting,” says Sengstschmid.
“Compared to the same period last year, the number of Indian tourists visiting Azerbaijan has surpassed a twofold rise. With appointment of Brandit as our representative office, we are poised to sustain and elevate this growing trend,” he adds.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board as part of Brandit’s growing portfolio. Our collaboration aims to unveil Azerbaijan’s hidden treasures and connect Indians with its unique experiences and use our expertise in the Indian outbound market, travel trade, and media to capture the growing interest in the destination,” says Sheerazi.
The statement adds that on June 8, media and travel trade representatives will gather for a networking event in Mumbai.
According to the tourism board, the growing number of arrivals highlights Azerbaijan as a highly sought-after travel destination for Indian tourists. This popularity is fuelled by its accessible flights, hassle-free e-visa process, and reputation as a vibrant cultural and business centre.
