The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) has returned to OTM Mumbai, one of leading travel trade shows in India, that began in Mumbai on Thursday.

In a press statement, the tourism board says that recognised as the leading travel show in the Asia-Pacific region, OTM Mumbai serves as a platform of international engagement for travel trade buyers and professionals in India. Together with 17 industry partners, including Azerbaijan Airlines, hospitality industry members, tour operators and tourism agencies, Azerbaijan is presenting myriads of travel experiences, from city and wellness experiences at the best resorts, to skiing at Caucasus Mountains and delicious traditional cuisine.

The board says that there are a lot of cultural and historical points of familiarity between the two nations. It adds that Azerbaijan is a safe family-oriented destination supported by a rich history that spans 5,000 years. The diverse culture of Azerbaijan has flourished over the ages, also influenced by travellers passing the Great Silk Road. It says thatv Ateshgah stands as a testament to this rich heritage, as this Fire Temple, marked by spouts of flames, and inscriptions in Sanskrit adorned by 19th-century Hindu merchants, continues to captivate visitors.

The board says that visitors to its stand at OTM are introduced to Azerbaijan’s myriad attractions, including the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Old City of Baku, the Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, the Sheki Historic Centre and newly inscribed Khinalig village and ‘Köç Yolu’ Transhumance Route. Cosmopolitan capital Baku boosts with tapestry of city experiences, from museums and galleries, to chic bars with local wines and delicacies, to array of restaurants with traditional and international cuisines, as well as countless business events offerings.

The board adds that Azerbaijan is a premier destination for hosting events of all scales, with world-class infrastructure and resources, including the Skytrax’ 5-star rated Baku International Airport, chain hotels, iconic Flame Towers, and facilities like the Baku Congress Centre and Heydar Aliyev Centre. Equipped with all the necessary amenities, this year Azerbaijan is preparing to host the upcoming global climate change summit, COP29, among many other international events.

The board says that to travel to Azerbaijan, citizens of India can apply for an e-VISA through the official website at least three days before their planned arrival date or receive an urgent visa within 3-5 hours. The visa is valid for 90 days, during which Indian travellers can stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days.
