Amadeus has acquired payment firm Voxel in a move that will ensure better payment experience between a range of different players across the travel ecosystem and complementary services.

Global travel technology firm Amadeus has announced the acquisition of Barcelona-based Voxel, a leading provider of electronic invoice and payment solutions for travel sellers, hotels, and other travel players. 

According to a press statement by Amadeus, this acquisition is set to support its travel payment experience and complement its payments business, Outpayce, by enhancing its existing travel sellers’ product suite while expanding in the hospitality segment.

The statement adds that the addition of Voxel solutions to existing offering of Amadeus means access to a wider range of payments services for travel sellers and a more automated electronic way to manage invoices for tour operators, hotel aggregators and hotels.

The acquisition of Voxel will also help Amadeus better serve its corporate customers by further automating the business travel experience, from reservation and payments to expense management, says Amadeus.
