Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), in association with the Ministry of Tourism and Lands, will organise the 170 potential MICE buyers from India for Jaffna MICE Expo 2023 from November 30 to December 3.
According to a press statement by the organisers, the event is designed to showcase the Northern Province as a promising destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) while also providing MICE agents and media personnel from South India with an opportunity to explore its potential.
The statement says 170 potential MICE buyers from India applied for the hosted buyer program and 40 buyers for the event. The selected MICE buyers will participate industry forums, networking sessions and familiarization tours that are organised by SLCB as part of the Expo.
“Sri Lanka Convention Bureau takes pride in fronting showcasing the Northern Province as a promising destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE),” says Chairman of Sri Lanka Convention Bureau Thisum Jayasuriya.
The Jaffna MICE Expo will provide an opportunity for local service providers such as event organisers, travels agents, hotels, venue partners to engage with foreign buyers and provide the assurance needed to strengthen their confidence in hosting international events in Sri Lanka.
“Sri Lanka Convention Bureau received overwhelming response from the hosted buyers as well as from the local vendors and slots were sold out well in advance,” says General Manager of Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Krishantha Fernando.
