Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, an international hotel chain owned by US-based Marriott International, has announced the opening of its second Sri Lankan property, the Sheraton Colombo Hotel. 

In a press statement, Sheraton says that its latest property in the country features elements from the brand’s new vision of fostering community, the hotel seamlessly integrates Colombo’s vibrant spirit and cultural richness into its ambience, making it the perfect retreat for both locals and tourists to work, meet and relax. 

Situated in the central hub of Colombo’s business and shopping district and approximately 45-minute drive from Bandaranaike International Colombo Airport, Sheraton Colombo Hotel says it gives convenient access to a distinctive mix of contemporary urban vibrancy and the timeless allure of old-world charm. The hotel presents a selection of 320 rooms and suites that span from 36 to 88 sqm and provides a variety of upscale dining options, such as the Colombo Kitchen, the Pool Bar, the Ceylon Bake Shop and the Colpetty Lounge.

It adds that within a 2 km distance are renowned landmarks such as Gengaramaya Temple and Viharamahadevi Park, while the historic Independence Memorial Hall lies just a 10-minute drive away. For avid shoppers, the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct features cafés, eateries, and souvenir shops.
