Hilton Hotels has announced the opening of its latest Garden Inn property in Costa Rica, marking the 1000th property under Garden Inn brand.

Global hospitality major Hilton says it has opened the 1,000th hotel under its select service Hilton Garden Inn brand. According to a press statement by Hilton, the milestone property is the Hilton Garden Inn San Jose Airport City Mall in Costa Rica, located a three-minute drive from Juan Santamaría International airport.

The statement adds that the features of the property include a heated outdoor pool, a Garden Grille and Bar, fitness and business centres, and a complimentary airport shuttle service. The statement adds that the Hilton Garden Inn brand was launched in the 1991 with three properties in the United States. 

Garden Inn is the group’s second largest brand behind Hampton by Hilton, which counts around 2,500 properties, and has a presence in around 60 countries and territories, although the majority of Garden Inn hotels are located in the US.

Hilton has outlined a few more openings in various parts of the world. These include in Brusselton, Western Australia, Peurto Rico, Balikesir in Turkiye, Padua in Italy, Windhoek in Naimbia, Dubai and Pensacola in US.

The brand also debuted in Japan last year, with the unveiling of the Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma. Hilton says that it has about 300 properties in the Garden Inn pipeline, with openings in 2024 set to include properties in China, Panama and Bologna in Italy.
