According to a press statement by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Mumbai, Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2024 is anticipated to welcome more than 920 participants, including 420 buyers from 50 countries, 500 sellers from across Thailand, as well as 100 local and international media.

Buyers include those from key source markets, Europe, South East Asia, East Asia, America and Australia, and emerging markets, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South America and South Africa, adds TAT.

Themed on Amazing New Chapters, which highlighted the kingdom’s 5F soft-power foundations of food, film, festival, fight and fashion, the 2023 edition witnessed key participation from comprising 374 buyers from 50 countries. The fair saw 435 booths set up by sellers from across Thailand and the Greater Mekong Sub-region and 112 media from overseas and in Thailand.

TAT says that the previous edition had seen an increase in participants. For sellers, there is an increase of about 61 pc despite the additional criteria set by TAT for having sustainability projects and initiatives. For buyers, there is an increase of about 36 pc in participants with most of them coming from Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

TAT says the surge in participation reflects the confidence of industry players and stakeholders in the remarkable potential of Thailand as a premier travel destination. Attendees got to experience the growth of facilities, infrastructure and business prospects that Bangkok has to offer after the travel and tourism industry returned to normal.

For its upcoming 2024 edition, TAT anticipates to continue the same momentum and showcase Thailand as a premier destination for tourism.
