Barely a month after it had announced a massive programme connecting five cities in India with four in Vietnam, Vietnamese low-cost airline VietJet has announced that it has been obliged to cancel all flights from Bengaluru and Hyderabad for more than a year, up to December 31, 2023.
In a communication, VietJet says that it can either refund the passengers who had booked on flights from these two cities or it can reroute the passengers to any flights from and to India, provided that the departure date is within three days from the scheduled departure of the affected flight.
In early September, VietJet had announced launch of flights from five cities in India, New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, to four destinations in Vietnam, namely Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Phu Quoc.
However, today the airline has announced cancellation of all flights from Bengaluru and Hyderabad for the next 15 months. It adds that it will refund within 30 days all passengers who seek to cancel their tickets.
