India’s largest airline, IndiGo, will begin operating direct flights from Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai to Bangkok in Thailand.
In a press statement, the low-cost carrier says that the Chennai-Bangkok flights will be operated four times a week and will begin from May 15 in order to provide business and leisure travellers with increased flight options and facilitate economic growth in the region.
The airline says that the flights to Bangkok will run on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with flight 6E 1913 leaving from Chennai at 03:50, reaching Bangkok at 09:05, the same day. On the return leg, flight 6E 1914 will leave from Survanabhoomi Airport in Bangkok at 10:05 and land in Chennai at 11:55 the same day.Besides flights to Bangkok, the carrier has also announced the launch of flights to Durgapur in West Bengal. The airline says tickets for both the routes are now being sold on its website.
