The new route will further strengthen Air India’s network of destinations in Southeast Asia
Air India will start non-stop service between Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) in Vietnam, starting June 1 in response to the booming outbound tourism from India to Vietnam.
According to a press statement issued by Air India, using its two-class configured Airbus A320neo aircraft, Air India will operate on the new route five days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The statement adds that the new route will further strengthen Air India’s network of destinations in Southeast Asia, offer a new flight option to an increasing number of travellers between India and Vietnam, and open new connections for Vietnamese travellers to access Air India’s global route network. The new service will also enable convenient one-stop connections to Vietnam via Delhi for travellers from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe.
The airline says that every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, AI388 will depart from Delhi at 13:15 and reach Ho Chi Minh City at 19:55 the same day, while on the return leg, flight A389 will leave Ho Chi Minh City at 20:55 the same day and reach Delhi at 00:30 the next day.
The airline currently flies non-stop between India and four points in Southeast Asia, namely Singapore, Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand, and Yangon in Myanmar.
