The Gulf island of Bahrain is all set to host one of its main cultural festivals, the Spring of Culture Festival, that is held in the month of February. According to a press statement, the 17th edition of the Spring of Culture Festival will be held in Bahrain’s capital Manama, bringing with it some of the largest cultural shows, international artists and entertainment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Spring of Culture is an annual festival that promotes cultural exchange between Bahrain and the rest of the world and attracts performers from all over the world. It also features several major exhibitions, including art and sculpture.

The press statement adds that in the upcoming edition of the Spring of Culture festival, Bahrain is set to welcome two world famous international artists to perform at the state-of-the-art venue, The Al Dana Amphitheatre.

One of the biggest attractions in the festival this year is international American artist and rapper Jack Harlow, who has received many awards and is an international sensation. The statement says that Harlow will be performing on February 23 and that for the first time ever in Bahrain, world renowned comedian and actor Kevin Hart will be performing on February 24. Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority says that Hart has become Hollywood’s box office powerhouse, opening 11 films at number one at the box office.

According to the organisers, the Spring of Culture Festival is a key player propelling the artistic and cultural movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since it was launched in 2006, the Spring of Culture has curated a lineup with an exciting range of events and activities. The organisers say that not only does this international seasonal event bridge global cultural communication, the Spring of Culture also highlights the various cultural institutions, historical sites, and landmarks within the Kingdom.

Coinciding with National Action Charter Day, the Spring of Culture Festival will launch at the Bahrain National Theatre with performance by Ahmed Al Jumairi in Yal Zaina, accompanied by the Bahrain Music Band led by Maestro Zeyad Zaiman. The National Theatre will also present a concert by one of the most distinguished orchestras in the Netherlands, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, accompanied by the celebrated Turkish pianist Hüseyin Sermet.

Al Dana Amphitheatre will host the King of Waltz, world-famous violinist André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra, in an enchanting evening that presents classical and international musical masterpieces. Early into the festival season, film aficionados will enjoy the Japan Film Festival 2023 at the Bahrain National Museum Auditorium over a two-day course. Participants can also discover various archaeological sites north of Bahrain, starting from UNESCO Qal’at Al Bahrain Site with the Archaeologies Walkathon. Children will have the opportunity to discover the archaeological pieces and sites in Bahrain with The Little Archaeologist programme. Re-experience Bahrain’s first UNESCO site with Bahrain’s acclaimed musical band Majaz for an interactive performance with musical visuals, which will take place at the Qal’at Al Bahrain Site Museum.
