Even though it reopened to tourists for only 8 months in 2022, Israel saw a rapid recovery in India and the destination is hoping to cross the pre-pandemic levels in 2023, reaching 100,000 Indian visitors in 2024. Sammy Yahia, Director of Israel Tourism in India & the Philippines, tells India Outbound that tourism recovery has been across all segments, but he is focusing on luxury, MICE and leisure travellers from key cities of Mumbai, New Delhi & Bengaluru to grow the market.
