Global visa, passport and citizen services provider VFS Global is set to manage an estimated 3.8 million applicants annually from across its 240 visa centres, leading to the opening of UK application centres in 84 new countries in the year 2024.

Outsourcing and technology services firm VFS Global has been appointed as the exclusive service provider for all UK Visa and Citizenship Application Centres across 142 countries. 

The company is set to deploy 240 Visa and Citizenship Application Service (VCAS) centres worldwide, covering regions such as Africa and the Middle East, the Americas, Australasia and Europe, China and Taiwan, and Asia and the Pacific.

According to a press statement, the 240 VCAS centres are expected to process applications from an estimated 3.8 million applicants annually, leading to the opening of UK application centres in 84 new countries by the year 2024.

The statement says that VFS Global will establish VCAS centres in 84 new countries in 2024, creating a vast network for visa and passport services. The contract includes a significant investment in technology to enhance customer experience, accessibility, and security. New customer websites and updated in-person experiences will be implemented.

The firm says that with this significant development, this contract solidifies its position as a trusted partner for the UK government since 2003. The new contract is also anticipated to deliver cost savings to the UK government, it adds.

VFS Global says it aims to improve the customer journey by deploying the latest technologies for robust identity checks, ensuring the integrity of the visa and passport application process.
