With the pandemic lull long past the industry and travel slowly regaining momentum across all sectors, APAC is rising as one of the giants of post-pandemic travel. To fuel the region's business travel evolution, GBTA gears up to organise its APAC Conference 2024 in Singapore from May 14-15.

Looking forward to the positive travel outlook in the Asia Pacific and eyeing to maximise its potential figures, the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) has officially announced that the GBTA APAC Conference 2024 will be held in Singapore from May 14-15.

According to a press statement by GBTA, as a follow-on to a successful joint effort and event in 2023, GBTA will again join forces this year to co-locate the conference with the Worldwide ERC Global Mobility Summit to ‘provide all delegates with unparalleled opportunities to learn and network across both conferences.’

GBTA says that business travel in APAC is poised for continued transformation in the coming year and APAC business travel spending is expected to reach USD 800 billion by 2027. This opens up vast opportunities for GBTA to fuel the region’s business travel evolution.

It adds that the 2024 GBTA APAC Conference will take place at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore, bringing the business travel community in the region together to network, gain insights from industry experts, and engage in peer-to-peer education. The two-day conference will feature main stage speakers, regional thought leaders, buyer/supplier roundtables, education sessions and ‘The Big Idea’ workshop, all focussing on key issues and prospects facing the business travel industry today.

“In 2024, GBTA will continue its focus on serving the unique needs and interests of APAC through a long-term strategy including the development of tailored programs and initiatives. We are again excited to co-locate our Singapore conference with Worldwide ERC which offers unique opportunities for connection and collaboration for business travel buyers, suppliers and companies in the region,” says Catherine Logan, GBTA Regional Senior Vice President for EMEA and APAC.

GBTA says it has also welcomed seasoned hospitality practitioner, Elle Ng-Darmawan, who joined the association in December 2023 as its new Regional Director for APAC. Based in Singapore, Ng-Darmawan brings extensive expertise in membership engagement, meetings, incentive, conference and events (MICE) sector and a deep understanding of the region to support GBTA’s initiatives.

GBTA says it will also continue to leverage the expert advisement of its APAC Board of Directors in shaping its learning, community, and advocacy programs in the APAC market.
