Though it dropped vertically during the pandemic, the flow of tourists from India to Iceland has recovered smartly in the past months and Visit Iceland hopes to come back to the 2019 numbers either in 2022 itself or early 2023.

The recently concluded 66th Convention of TAAI had several unique elements. From being held aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise liner off Singapore to promoting regional travel in order to boost revival of the industry, not only in India, but also its neighbourhood.

After over two years of a near-total halt, outbound travel from India is now racing ahead and is likely to reach the pre-pandemic levels within a few months. However, for the outbound travel agents the way of doing business has definitely changed dramatically, Riaz Munshi, President of Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) tells India Outbound in an interview.
