The upscale establishment underwent its second refurbishment
Spanish hotel group Riu Hotels & Resorts says it has reopened the Riu Gran Canaria in Mallorca, Spain, following a complete refurbishment.
In a press statement, the Spanish luxury hospitality chain says that it has renovated with a new design and has been equipped with new facilities, restaurants, bars and services. Riu Gran Canaria will also include the colourful Riu Party events, to be held at the end of the year.
The upscale establishment underwent its second refurbishment, improvements in energy efficiency, waste management and reduction and water consumption was incorporated, adds the press statement.
It says that the 639 rooms feature fresh and bright tones, remodelled to create a larger reception area and let more light in, with huge skylights in the ceiling.
The statement adds that the main restaurant “Las Dunas” has undergone a complete makeover. The hotel features two swimming pool restaurants, ‘Atlántico’ and the Asian restaurant ‘Kaori’, and the grill restaurant “Pepe’s Food” has been relocated. The gourmet restaurant “Kulinarium” and the Italian restaurant “Amore Mio” are two new options that have been added to the hotel’s previous selection.
The refurbished property also has a new Sports Bar, which has a stage for the Riu Get Together Party events that will be held every Friday from the end of November. Guests also have the pool bar “Liquid”, the chill-out bar ‘Sunset’ and the terrace bar ‘Cocktail’.
The resort features a total of seven pools, including the infinity pool on the seafront promenade. In addition, the Riu Gran Canaria has a Riu Art and Riu Land area, as well as an extensive daytime and evening entertainment programme for the whole family.
