Kym Barter's appointment follows his successful two-year tenure as VP, Food & Beverage across the Atlantis destination
Dubai-based luxury resort Atlantis, The Palm has announced the appointment of Kym Barter as its General Manager and Senior Vice President, Operations.
In a press statement, the resort says that Barter’s appointment follows his successful two-year tenure as Vice President, Food & Beverage across the Atlantis destination.
It adds that Barter’s new role at Atlantis, The Palm entails him to oversee all operational aspects of the resort. His remit will include the 1,544-room resort, as well as 35 world-renowned restaurants and bars, an extensive MICE & Events offering, retail avenues, and Awaken Spa and Fitness.

The statement adds that Barter, who had joined Atlantis The Royal just ahead of its launch, cultivated a high-performing team of culinary professionals for the resort which culminated in a record year for its food and beverage operation.

With his more than three decades of experience in luxury hospitality, the destination had secured three Michelin stars, as well as a spot for Ossiano on the the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list 2023 under his leadership, says the resort.
It adds that Barter served in a variety of leadership positions, most immediately as Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage at Wynn and Encore Las Vegas. It goes on to say that prior to this, Barter also served leadership roles at Macau, Miami, London, Riyadh and Manila as well as Melbourne and various hotels throughout Asia, including Bangkok, Beijing and Hong Kong, prior to joining Atlantis Dubai.
