Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, a leading destination for wine enthusiasts and nature lovers, launched of its newest accommodation offering, the Milk and Honey villa. According to a press statement by the estate, this is the sixth oceanside villa available for holiday rentals, each featuring en-suite bedrooms, Wi-fi, a swimming pool, fireplaces and outdoors braai.
The statement adds that the architect-designed luxury villas offer an unparalleled experience for eco-conscious travellers seeking a tranquil getaway. The secure, low-density estate is surrounded by fynbos, vineyards and a lagoon, separated from the Atlantic Ocean by a narrow sandbar. Wild horses still roam the beach and wildlife thrives here.
The Milk and Honey villa is the epitome of luxury and sustainability, says estate owner Penny Streeter. With three en-suite bedrooms, the villa can comfortably accommodate up to six guests. Each room offers breathtaking views of the lagoon, ocean and mountains, creating a serene atmosphere that seamlessly blends with the natural surroundings.

The villa features a fully-fitted kitchen, perfect for self-catering, and spacious living areas and sun decks for relaxation, while the private pool offers a refreshing respite from the South African sun. The villa is also pet-friendly, welcoming dogs with a small additional cleaning fee.
Benguela Cove’s commitment to producing exceptional vintages was recognised recently in Platter’s South African Wine Guide 2024. The estate’s flagship wines, Benguela Cove Catalina 2021 and the Benguela Cove Vinography Petit Verdot 2021, both received the coveted 5-star rating.
Additionally, 13 of the estate’s wines were awarded, showcasing the depth and diversity of Benguela Cove’s cool-climate wine portfolio. As a WWF Conservation Champion, Benguela Cove is dedicated to preserving the biodiversity of the region. The estate is located within the UNESCO-designated Kogelberg Biosphere, a haven for rare birds and wildlife. Guests can explore the natural wonders of the area through guided walks, birdwatching, and eco-tours.

The estate has recently partnered with a local beekeeper to produce honey for use in the restaurant’s culinary creations. This initiative not only supports the local ecosystem but also reflects the estate’s dedication to working in harmony with nature.
