Although nightlife is the more popular counterpart, Dubai’s assortment of indoor entertainment options make for an equally ideal exploration. Tourism promotion body Dubai Economy & Tourism (DET) shares a list of worthy indoor activities to make the most of the summers where visitors can immerse themselves in the ‘Venice’ of the Gulf’s indoor charms.

Aside from its noteworthy architecture, exploring the library’s nine levels spanning 54,000 sqm takes visitors on a tour of a fully digitalised laboratory with several specialised collections inside. More than a million novels, both paperback and digital, are housed in this contemporary library that resembles an Islamic lantern. The statement adds that it was designed using the idea of a Rehal, the conventional wooden book rest used to hold the Holy Quran during recitation. There are nine libraries and each one has a distinctive variety of resources geared towards a different audience. These books are available in many different languages.

A young fisherwoman falls into a dream-like state and travels through the UAE in search of a lost pearl. La Perle features a fusion of immersive artistic performances, imagery and technology. The show features exhibits based on water motifs in the style of the big Las Vegas shows. Included in the 450 performances each year is a combination of cirque du soleil, gymnastics, acrobatics, special effects and latest audio-video technologies, all of which take place in the unique venue. It is also Dubai’s first permanent show, featuring multifarious performers who showcase numerous aerial and aquatic performances. The statement adds that the 1,300-seat theatre was specifically designed to offer an immersive experience of time travel into the 90-minute concert.

‘A gateway to the world 50 years from now’, DET says the museum hosts displays of futuristic accomplishments driven by innovation. Its architecture is something sure to appeal to visitors immediately. And, the 30,000 sqm worldwide ‘intellectual powerhouse’ is a portal to the future where visitors can interact with technology that is changing the world. Ameca, its sophisticated humanoid robot, is a contemporary illustration of human-robotics technology. The statement adds that children aged 3 to 10 can enjoy an open-world experience at the Future Heroes environment, a dedicated area designed to encourage little ones to tap into their potential.

The theatre presents interactive installations and varied artistic forms sure to appeal to art enthusiasts, technology aficionados and individuals seeking unique cultural experiences.

Visitors can explore different worlds here as the Aya Universe offers a range of different dimensions to explore. DET says the futuristic art installations at AYA creates a signature, Dubai-only experience for visitors. This family-friendly attraction is one of the most ‘Instagrammable’ indoor places in Dubai, comprising 12 zones, each of which features a range of interactive games and virtual reality simulations which transport visitors into an immersive world. The Aya Universe exhibits blend art, technology and science in its futuristic space-themed experience.

At the Emirates Golf Club, Top Golf is a three-level entertainment complex with a rooftop patio that is more than 5570 sqm in size. On top of a gaming space, Topgolf has three restaurants, a shop, three opulent VIP suites, big TVs for watching sports, a mini-golf course, and live music. Whatever the occasion, DET says it’s an ideal place to chill with scenic views of the Dubai Marina skyline.
