Belgian capital Brussels is set to host the Brussels Festival of Lights for four magical evenings from February 15 to 18. This year’s edition will feature artistic installations, fringe programmes and a host of innovative new concepts.

In a press statement, Visit Brussels says that this year the city’s Bright Festival is set to guide visitors through two of the capital’s emblematic neighbourhoods the Royal Quarter and the European Quarter.

The statement adds that travellers can also learn about the city by exploring about thirty poetry pieces that have been produced by international artists. This year’s event promises to shine the spotlight on Europe and its values, in conjunction with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, says Brussels board.

The statement adds that alongside these artistic installations, an equally illuminating fringe programme of evening events in museums, guided tours, live entertainment and heritage illuminations punctuates the festival. A new addition to this edition will be a children’s zone for the little ones, so that they too can experience the magic of light this winter.

The festival will shine a spotlight on Europe to mark Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2024. The Bright Festival organisers noted that they will again be fully committed to sustainability this year. They are selecting projects that use energy-saving lighting or lighting produced from renewable sources and ensuring the festival is accessible by public transport.
