Coca-Cola, Presenting Partner of the Olympic Torch Relay, will be organising six exclusive and free concerts as part of the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays.

In a press statement, the organisers of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games say that a total of 17 popular Francophone artists from the new generation, both emerging and established, in a variety of styles and genres, will bring audiences together for unforgettable memories.

The statement adds that each date will offer a varied experience with artists from the region such as Alonzo and Soprano in Marseille, Lujipeka and Chilla in Rennes, and many more to be announced soon. For the music festival on June 21 in Saint-Etienne, the tour will feature an all-female line-up with Santa and Bianca Costa.

The statement adds that celebrating the arrival of the Games in France, the Paris 2024 Torch Relay, sponsored by Coca-Cola, Banque Populaire & Caisse d’Epargne, promises to be a unifying and festive event. Each Sponsor is keen to bring its own personal touch to the Relay celebrations, be it music for Coca-Cola, or water sports for Banque Populaire & Caisse d’Epargne.

The arrival of the flame in Marseille on May 8 will kick off four months of festivities across France. The Torch Relay will be an opportunity for all French people to take part in the celebrations of the Games as close to home as possible and events and concerts will be part of the collective celebration of the Games.

The statement adds that Paris 2024 and Coca-Cola are inviting the French to take part in five concerts in Olympic Torch Relay cities and one in Paris 2024 Paralympic Torch Relay city.

The festivities will start in Marseille on May 8, with a concert on a floating stage, open free of charge to 45,000 people, to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Flame straight from Olympia.

The organisers have released the calendar of the concerts

  • May 8: Marseille – Old Port
  • June 1: Rennes – Le Liberté
  • June 21: Saint-Etienne – Geoffroy Guichard Stadium
  • July 15: Paris – Place de la République
  • July 25: La Courneuve – Parc Georges Valbon
  • August 27: Bobigny – Le Prisme

The statement adds that the concerts organised by Coca-Cola have been designed to bring fans closer to their artists, with everything from video booths and temporary tattoo parlours to creative workshops and recording studios to enable audiences to interact with the artists on a personal level. The spectator experience will be enhanced by the distribution of biodegradable glitter to add a festive touch to participants’ looks, and a food court at some concerts will offer local specialities.

The organisers say that audiences will be able to book their seats free of charge and obtain tickets via the Coca-Cola app, which can be downloaded free of charge from Apple Store and Google Play, with the exception of Marseille, where the concert will be held without booking.

All along the Olympic Torch Relay route, Coca-Cola will be offering large-scale events to bring the French people together and celebrate the Torchbearers.

Two vehicles in the colours of the Coca-Cola and Fuze Tea brands will accompany the Torchbearers through more than 400 towns and cities, meeting up with French people to build excitement and spur on the festivities throughout France. Throughout the convoy, to refresh spectators, Coca-Cola entertainers will be offering tastings of their Coca-Cola Sugar Free and Fuze Tea drinks to those who wish to try them.

A Coca-Cola village is also being set up in each of the 65 stage towns where a 300 sqm space will offer the public a musical and festive atmosphere, as well as a host of activities.

“The Torch Relay will be the real launch of the Paris 2024 celebrations! We want this Relay to be festive, a time for sharing and excitement, and we are looking forward to seeing as many French people as possible along the way to watch the Flame go by and take part in all the activities on offer. A big thank you to Coca-Cola, who will be helping us to connect with the public and make this event as joyful as possible, with a programme worthy of the biggest festivals. From the first concert to celebrate the arrival of the Flame, in Marseille on May 8, the excitement will build to a crescendo with the Relay festivities, with dates and events throughout France, right up to the Olympic Opening Ceremony on the Seine on July 26. In August, the Coca-Cola festivities will accompany the arrival of the Paralympic Flame with an event concert close to the heart of the competition venues, in Seine-Saint-Denis! We can’t wait!,” says Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024.
