Sri Lanka’s flag carrier, SriLankan Airlines has relaunched flights between Colombo and Jeddah. In a press statement, SriLankan Airlines says that it debuted the connection again on August 15.
It adds that on its very first flight to Jeddah, the airline carried some passengers, hailing from Tiruchirapalli or Trichy in India who were headed on Umrah pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia and were flying with SriLankan to Jeddah, which serves as a gateway to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
The statement adds that SriLankan now offers a thrice weekly service from Colombo to Jeddah every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday with seamless connections for Indian Umrah pilgrims, from numerous cities like Trichy, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai and Madurai.
The airline says that it also operates daily from Colombo to Dammam and Riyadh, extending further convenient connections to Saudi Arabia for Indian travellers.
