Oneworld member Qatar Airways has announced another round of network and capacity expansion. From July 2024, the airline will launch flights from its Doha hub to Hamburg in Germany, which will be its fifth destination in Germany, following Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf, says Qatar Airways in a press statement.
Moreover, from June, Qatar Airways will return to Venice in Italy as Venice is expected to see high demand from passengers from Japan, China and Australia, while Hamburg will serve as a gateway to South Africa, Thailand and the Philippines, the airline says. Incidentally, Venice is the 3rd Italian destination on Qatar Airways network after Rome and Milan.
Venice will be served daily from June 12, 2024 with flights departing Doha at 09:00 and arriving 14:20 everyday. On the return leg, the flights depart the Italian city at 16:50 and arrive back into Doha same day at 23:10.
Doha-Hamburg will be a daily service, too, with flights departing Doha at 08:35 and arriving at 14:10 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and returning at 15:40 for a 22:40 arrival back into Doha.
On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, however, the Hamburg flights will depart Doha at 02:15 and arriving at 07:50 in the Northern German city. The return services then leave Hamburg at 09:20 for a 16:20 arrival back into Doha, says the airline.
The Hamburg and Venice announcements come on the back of a recent expansion to the Qatar Airways winter schedule which includes increased flight frequencies to key leisure destinations, including Amsterdam, Bangkok, Barcelona, Belgrade and Miami.
