Malaysia Airlines has filed two weekly frequencies on the Kuala Lumpur-Amritsar route, that is expected to begin from November 10
Malaysia’s national carrier, Malaysia Airlines has planned to add its network in India with the launch of a direct service between its Kuala Lumpur hub and Amritsar in Punjab.
According to reports, in its latest schedule update, Malaysia Airlines has filed two weekly frequencies on the Kuala Lumpur-Amritsar route, that is expected to begin from November 10.
According to the filings, the service MH206 will depart Kuala Lumpur at 23:00 every Monday and Friday and arrive in Amritsar at 02:30 the following morning. On the return leg, MH207 flight will leave Amritsar every Tuesday and Saturday at 03:30 and arrive back in Kuala Lumpur at 11:45.
The reports indicate that Malaysia Airlines will deploy a Boeing 737-800 aircraft on these six-hour flights. These feature 16 business class recliners in a 2-2 configuration, and 144 economy class seats in a 3-3 layout. Kuala Lumpur-Amritsar is a popular route, and Malaysia Airlines will be the third carrier to offer nonstop service between the two cities.
Batik Air Malaysia flies the route four times a week with Boeing 737 Max aircraft, and AirAsia X is currently operating to Amritsar twice-weekly with Airbus A330-300 widebody aircraft, including the airline’s ‘Premium Flatbed’ product.
