Saudi low-cost carrier flynas has announced two new routes to Brussels and Bahrain that will be opened progressively in November and December.

According to a press statement, from November 15, the airline will launch daily direct flights between Riyadh and Bahrain International Airport. The airline says that the decision to introduce this route follows an MoU signed between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain to promote both countries regionally and internationally as one tourist destination.

Meanwhile, flynas will also launch a direct flight between Brussels and Jeddah. It will launch its first direct flight from King Abdulaziz International airport in Jeddah to Brussels airport on December 2 and will operate that route with thrice-weekly services.

“With the addition of this new destination connecting Jeddah to the capital of Belgium, Brussels, flynas continues to strengthen its position as a globally leading low-cost airline and expand its growing network of destinations within our strategic partnership with the Air Connectivity Programme,” says Bander Almohanna, CEO and managing director of flynas.

“Europe remains a pivotal market for Saudi Arabia. Building upon the successful launch of the Marseille-Jeddah route by flynas last year, introducing this new route to Brussels is a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to bolster air connectivity with Europe. We are eager to continue facilitating improved access for European travellers to the kingdom by collaborating with both local and international airlines,” says Ali Rajab, CEO of Air Connectivity Programme.

Apart from Bahrain and Brussels, flynas has also announced other flights, both domestic and international. Starting from 1 December, 2023, it will launch two routes from Madinah to Abha and Tabuk within Saudi Arabia itself. Internationally, five new routes will be operated from Madinah to Dubai, Amman, Baghdad, Istanbul and Ankara. These services will operate alongside four existing routes from Madinah to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Cairo. The new routes will take the total number of routes operated by flynas from Madinah to 11.
