With tourist arrival from India reaching 60 pc of 2019 levels in 2022, Fred Dixon, President & CEO of NYC & Company tells India Outbound that he is hoping for a 90 pc recovery this year. Boosting direct air connectivity to the pre-pandemic level and beyond is crucial for New York to keep pace with the growing Indian market, which is predominantly leisure, along with business. Dixon adds that New York has several new attractions for Indian visitors including a year-long celebration of 50th anniversary of hip hop, which was born in New York.
