The Mexican Embassy recently organised celebrations of Día de Muertos, the Day of the Dead, one of the key cultural festivals of Mexico, in New Delhi. Dia de Muertos is also recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Mexican Ambassador to India Federico Salas tells India Outbound that he is keen to use Mexican culture to attract a greater share of Indian tourists to Mexico. He says airline connectivity & sheer distance is a challenge, but is trying to find a way out to simplify travel between two countries.
