Riding on the success of Birmingham Commonwealth Games held earlier this year, the region of West Midlands is eyeing other major sports events to promote tourism, especially from the key Indian market. Andy Street, Mayor of West Midlands, who was recently in India to announce the event, tells India Outbound that the region will host the 2025 Kabbadi World Cup in order to tap the Indian market due to the popularity of the sport, not just in India and South Asia, but also among the Asians living the United Kingdom and other parts of the world.
