Sri Lanka has set for itself a target of reaching the 2019 tourist arrival numbers by 2023 and Sri Lanka Tourism has taken several measures to get there. Chalaka Gajabahu, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau tells India Outbound that the destination is banking on its compact and diverse tourism offer and is making the investments that it needs to reach its goal. Gajabahu adds that Sri Lanka will also promote new circuits like the Northern Province and Eastern Province, which have a close cultural proximity with Tamil Nadu in India.
